The article reveals some features of the image of Soviet philosopher as a Russian, in the works of V. M. Mezhuev. This task is solved through the characteristics of such philosophers as E. V. Ilyenkov and M. K. Mamardashvili. These thinkers had a discursive community expressed in the “Russian manner” of presenting their thoughts and argumentation, as well as a unity of artistic and conceptual apparatus, polemical technique, etc. From Mezhuev’s point of view, Russian philosophers of different eras have a common feature: they are linked by ethics, spirituality and practical orientation of the subject of philosophy. The author shows the internal connection between Soviet and Russian philosophy, united by ethics and ideological ideals, as well as a common implacability towards the Western positivism and formalism. The difference between Ilyenkov’s approach (philosophy of the “Thaw”) and Mamardashvili’s one (philosophy of the stagnation) is shown in V. M. Mezhuev’s texts.
