The image of the sun in the poetry by P. Mayskiy: semantic and stylistic analysis

Statement of the problem. The image of the sun has a large significance and a long history of semantic development in culture. Semantic and stylistic analysis is one of important aspects of studying the representation of this image in the poetic world picture. This article shows the results of semantic and stylistic analysis of the image of the sun in the poetry of a Novokuznetsk poet Pavel Mayskiy based on approaches of the modern communicative stylistics of the text. The purpose of the article is to consider semantic and stylistic features of the image of the sun in the collection of poems by P. Mayskiy (1987) analyzing lexical structure of the text. Methodology (materials and methods). The author selected 29 poems containing lexemes ‘solntse’ (the sun), ‘solnyshko’ (the little sun), ‘solnechnyy’ (sunny) from 144 poems of the collection “Storonushka tayozhnaya moya” (My Taiga Land) by P. Mayskiy. The author analyzed the contexts according to the theory of lexical structure of a literary text by N.S. Bolotnova, considering syntagmatic and paradigmatic ties of the lexemes. The results of semantic and stylistic analysis were systematized according to characteristics of the object of description (a portrait, a landscape, a house interior) and the classification of communicative registers by G.A. Zolotova. Research results. Contexts with the lexemes representing the image of the sun are related to reproductive, informative and generative registers. The author reveals semantic and stylistic features of landscapes, portraits, house interiors, autopsychological sketches, as well as reflexive contexts typical for the generative register. The author reviews lexical paradigms including lexemes representing the image of the sun and specific features of the lexical syntagmatics.
