The image of Ulan-Ude as an expression of the homeland motif in the poetry of Russian poets of Buryatia

The article explores the nature of the motif as a structural unit of the artistic worldview. It focuses on the image of the city as a lyrical expression of the “motif’ concept in the poetry of Russian poets of Buryatia from the 1960s to the 1990s, specifically V. Lipatov, M. Shikhanov, and A. Shchitov. The study analyzes the poet's personal worldview, culture, society, history, and other factors that shape the concept of the motif. It examines the lyrical hero's perception of the city and the poets' ability to highlight hidden aspects of their native space, revealing new features in the appearance of Ulan-Ude that are invisible to the ordinary eye. The author emphasizes the artistic curiosity of Russian poets in Buryatia while highlighting the uniqueness of each poet, distinguishing M. Shikhanov’s poetry, A. Shchitov’s lyricism, and V. Lipatov’s artistic language.
