Education and upbringing of the lower-middle class' children in the Mordovsky krai

The article is concerned with the problem of education and upbringing of children belonging to the most significant stratum of city dwellers in Russia - petty bourgeoisie. Based on historical documents and materials dealing with history of culture and education in the Mordovsky krai, the author reconstructed the holistic picture of education and upbringing among city inhabitants.
