The educational program of the university as an object of strategic management in the context of increasing competitiveness

Higher education today is undergoing global changes caused by the transformation of society, which is based, among other things, on changes in attitudes both to learning processes and to the methods and principles of implementing educational programs. Dynamic changes in the external environment inevitably entail the need to adapt educational programs to the new requirements of reality. These prerequisites modify the main tasks of universities, which today consist in the formation of long-term strategies that allow a proactive response to the demands of the external environment. In the current conditions, the main tool of this adaptation is the strategic management of educational programs in order to form a certain level of graduate quality. This level becomes an indicator of the reputation of the university, its relevance and competitiveness. The concept of strategic management in the field of education is the result of the interaction of several management entities, whose goals and objectives may not initially coincide. In addition, these entities have various opportunities to implement strategic programs and projects. Therefore, we cannot talk today about the universalization of strategic goals. Building the concept of strategic management of the educational program is reduced to identifying the main stages of strategic management and to adapting the methods and technologies of each stage, taking into account the built tasks aimed at achieving the designated goals.
