Educational environment of a pedagogical university as a factor in education and socialization of students

Statement of the problem. The article presents a scientific substantiation of the potential for the educational environment of a pedagogical university to educate and socialize students. Research in the field of creation and development of the educational environment of a university is analyzed; the content of the phenomena of ‘education’ and ‘socialization’ is clarified. The purpose of the article is to analyze and identify the potential for the educational environment of a pedagogical university to educate and socialize students. The methodology of the research consists in systemic, phenomenological, and environmental approaches. The methods of analysis, hypotheses, and design were used. Research results. The approaches to defining the phenomenon of ‘educational environment’ are analyzed, distinctive features of the educational environment of a pedagogical university are identified, the structure of the educational environment of a pedagogical university is scientifically substantiated, the dependence of the content of the components of educational environment in a pedagogical university on the organizational culture of the organization is shown, the potential of the educational environment of a pedagogical university in education and socialization of students is revealed. The analysis of the research results made it possible to identify ways to improve the educational environment of a pedagogical university in the context of education and socialization of students. Conclusion. Conclusions are made that the educational environment of a pedagogical university is the main resource for the formation of a socially active personality. The article shows directions for designing the educational environment of a pedagogical university and practical application of new knowledge, as well as prospects for further research of the problem.
