Educational potential of the Russian periodical press of the 19th–20th centuries. (using the children’s magazine "Galchonok" as an example)

The article provides some aspects of the participation of the country's social movement in the activities of the Russian secondary school. The identified problems of general education of the late XIX – early XX centuries. were reflected not only in the directions of state reform of the school, but also in the intensification of the activities of the periodical press. Children's magazines, as an external resource for the development of the quality of education, have great educational potential in the general education of young readers. The study used publications of the literary and art magazine "Galchonok." General approaches and directions have been established, as well as the peculiarities of solving education problems that ensure the organization of upbringing of the younger generation through reading and active interaction with the audience.
