Educational capital as a factor of emigration of graduating students of Russian provincial universities (on the example of Ulyanovsk State University)

The article presents the results of the pilot study conducted by the Chair of Sociology and Political Science of Ulyanovsk State University in June-August, 2014. One of the aims of the study was determination of the role of provincial educational capital of graduate students of the Russian universities in realization of their migration plans. For this purpose such parameters as socio-economic status of migrant families, educational potential, migration preferences of graduate students and the causes of migration, educational strategies, and social well-being of emigrants abroad were used. According to the study results one can conclude that the educational capital today is one of the main factors of emigration of graduate students of Russian provincial universities.
