This article is devoted to the study of the images of the main characters in the autobiographical novel "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by American writer Betty Smith. This analysis reveals the content of the concept of the family, family and spiritual values. The protagonists are specifically written personalities, where they are formed with exceptional attention, as they have important thoughts and ideas.
