The saints patron`s images of the St. Metropolitan Makarios of the Moscow in the Russian art of 16th century

The article examines a few works of fine art of Moscow Rus and Russia of the Synodal period, as well as written sources that allow us to judge which saints were the heavenly patrons of St. Makarios, Metropolitan of Moscow. The topic is of interest from the point of view of the idea about the individuality and earthly personality of the customer in the Late Middle Ages and its disclosure in the works of Christian piety.
