Images of Scythian art in modern art crafts of the Altai Republic

Currently, the Scythian theme, as an important part of the historical and cultural heritage of the Altai region, is widely used to create a unique image of the Republic of Altai. Images of the Scythian art have been involved in the symbolic and artistic space of the region since the 1990s. By the 2000s, the “Scythian heritage ” has been creatively reconsidered in modern handicraft trades in the Altai Republic and played an important role in their restoration and popularization. The artistic community initiates projects aimed at reconstructing artifacts of the Pazyryk archaeological culture, its heritage is actively used in presentational practices. It can be concluded that the images of Scythian art have become the markers of the Altai ethnic identity.
