General characteristics of patient justice in the Russian judicial system

The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of patrimonial justice, the history of its origin and development. The importance of studying the etymology of the term fiefdom in the works of historians of the past and present is noted. The study provides a classification of estates on various grounds. The author analyzes the institution of patrimonial court, its advantages and disadvantages in accordance with the corresponding historical period. The author focuses on the most important historical milestones in the emergence and development of patrimonial courts in the pre-revolutionary judicial system of Russia, which are important for legal theorists and historians to this day.
