Community incentive mechanisms for police officers

Based on the results of a specific sociological study, the article shows the relevance of implementing theories to stimulate the activities of police officers. Analysis of domestic and foreign theories of stimulation and motivation is presented, their strengths and weaknesses are justified. Copyright definitions of the categories “incentive,” “public incentive mechanism” are given. Systemically important public mechanisms are being developed to stimulate police officers: legal, political, public responsibility, public quality control of police incentives, information, publicity, traditions and others. The results of a specific sociological study of public mechanisms for stimulating police officers are presented. Information is provided on the features of police incentives in Western countries. Practical recommendations have been developed in the areas of: improving the regulatory legal framework of the Russian Federation; improving public incentive mechanisms for police officers; theoretical developments and research work.
