Teaching listening on the communicative basis

In this article, the authors consider the problem of teaching listening to middle-school students and prove the role of the communicative approach in teaching listening. Objective groups ofdifficulties and basic listening mechanisms are presented in the work. The authors emphasize the necessity of using Internet resources to form students’auditory skills. As an example, online platforms Puzzle English, Ororo.tv used bythe authors during teaching practice are chosen. The effectiveness of these resources has been reviewed. The authors propose preparatory and speech exercises based on these platforms for training listening, which should motivate students to learn English.
