The paper discusses some issues of didactic and methodological bases of teaching written speech to a staff of technical universities, a set of exercises has been offered to teach writing on the example of the discipline content «Professional and Academic Writing» within the development training program «English for Scientific and Engineering Purposes», the intermediate results of the use the developed set of activities at classes have been described.
