Review of data on the use of gabapentin for the treatment of neuropatic pain with experimental evaluation of its effect on the physiological state and behavioral state of Wistar rats in the "Open field" test

The purpose of the study was to establish the necessity for the use of Gabapentin in the complex therapy of pain syndromes of various etiologies, as well as stress-induced pathologies. A review of the literature data clearly illustrates the wide range of therapeutic opportunities of this drug with minimal undesirable effects. In the experiment with clinically healthy Wistar laboratory rats, side effects in the form of excessive sedation were not observed at therapeutic doses. However, there was a statistically significant reduction in anxiety and stress levels. This effect of the drug may be potentially appropriate for use in livestock complexes with stress syndromes. However, further studies of the safety of consequences of its therapeutic use on animal-keeping products.
