Review of research in the field of emotional intelligence of adolescents

Statement of the problem. Interest in the problem of emotional intelligence has increased significantly in recent decades. Emotional intelligence is considered as one of the key competencies of the 21st century, as a factor of successful adaptation and development in the world of rapidly developing artificial intelligence. The research directions in this field are quite diverse and require generalization and systematization. The purpose of the article is to analyze, systematize and summarize research in the field of emotional intelligence among adolescents. The research methodology consists of the analysis, generalization and systematization of scientific research works of foreign and Russian scientists related to the emotional intelligence of adolescents, which determines the methods used: analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization of scientific ideas and research on the problem of emotional intelligence of adolescents. Research results. The research summarizes the information obtained as a result of proven scientific research by modern scientists. The research is grouped into the main areas: research on the study of emotional intelligence, its components, structure, features, and components; research on the development of diagnostic tools; research on the development of programs for the development of emotional intelligence; research aimed at studying the relationship between age-related developmental features and emotional intelligence. It is advisable to differentiate the latter into subgroups of children, adolescents, and adults. The analysis of research in the field of emotional intelligence of adolescents allowed us to systematize scientific research on this phenomenon into the following sections: analysis of the structure, features and components of emotional intelligence of adolescents, the phenomenon of emotional intelligence of adolescents as an object; the relationship of emotional intelligence and gender characteristics of adolescents; emotional intelligence as a predictor of interpersonal communication in adolescents; the relationship of leadership qualities and characteristics of emotional intelligence in adolescents; the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and Internetdependent behavior of adolescents; the influence of the level of emotional intelligence on the formation of deviant behavior in adolescents. We have identified a lack of information about the emotional intelligence of adolescents, namely, about predictors of the development of emotional intelligence in the context of the family system parameters and other components of intra-family relations.
