Review of the legislative framework and methodological developments on the inventory of greenhouse gases in various operations with solid municipal and industrial waste

The article examines the relationship between the increase in waste and greenhouse gas emissions in the Russian Federation. Based on the data analysis, it was revealed that with an increase in the amount of waste by 66.33%, greenhouse gas emissions increased by only 26.03%. The authors of the article also review the main documents regulating the legal framework and practical approaches to the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions in the country. The results of the study can be useful for developing effective strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce waste in Russia.
