The article is devoted to the assessment of the results of students' educational activities in pedagogical universities of the United States on the example of a specific university. Emphasized is the use of the student portfolio. We consider the requirements for the portfolio developed at the university, the choice of students, the system of management of this type of work. There is a stimulating and organizing role of the work.
