The results of a study of four varieties and nine promising lines of annual white melilot are presented. The studies were performed in 2016-2019. in the Volga NIISS. The studied varieties and promising clover lines differed in terms of plasticity and yield stability of green mass. The Srednevolzhsky, Kinelsky, Zavolzhsky and Hugh line varieties have the greatest stability in the conditions of the Samara Trans-Volga region. The Srednevolzhsky, Kinelsky, Zavolzhsky varieties and the Hugh 0, Hugh 40, and Indus lines showed the highest resistance to adverse environmental factors. The maximum ratio between the genotype and environmental factors was noted Zavolzhsky variety and lines D-142 (34.94), Kin1 (34.05) and Hugh 1 (33.90). All studied varieties and lines have high breeding value and can be used as starting material for the creation of new varieties of white melilot annually for the conditions of the forest-steppe of the Middle Volga.
