The article presents the results of the study of the tolerability of a complex insectoacaricidal preparation for veterinary use of "Neoterika Protecto 4" in the form of drops (spot-on) on the target species of animals. The composition of the preparation as active substances include imidacloprid, etofenprox, and pyriproxyfen. The safety of the use of an antiparasitic agent has been studied in healthy dogs, cats and rabbits of various ages and breeds. 12 experienced and 6 control groups were formed. The animals of the first experimental groups were treated twice with a therapeutic dose of the preparation, the second experienced with a fivefold increased therapeutic dose. Insectoacaricide was applied externally, 4 times with an interval of 7 days, by dotting on dry undamaged skin in places not accessible to licking. Animals from the control groups did not use the preparation. They were monitored daily, noting the general state, behavior, appetite, controlling their weight and body temperature. Prior to the beginning of the experiment, and 15 and 30 days after the start of the experiment, blood and urine samples were taken from animals to study a number of parameters. It was found that the preparation in increased therapeutic doses does not adversely affect the general condition of dogs, cats and decorative rabbits, their physiological status and behavior, does not affect the morphogematological, biochemical blood indices and physico-chemical parameters of urine.
