The article is concerned with an assessment of the competitive teacher's activities in the context of the competency approach implementation. The issue is extremely urgent in the circumstances of the educational system reformation in the country. The authors give definitions to such concepts, as: competence, competencies, competitiveness, and consider principle criteria of the teacher's competitiveness assessment.
