Assessment of the demographic situation in the Russian Federation during the coronavirus pandemic

The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of the demographic situation in Russia during the pandemic. 2021 was one of the few periods in terms of the number of deaths per capita. And one cannot blame only the pandemic for this, the country as a whole and medicine in particular were not ready for such a sharp blow. The article highlights the causes of high mortality in Russia during this period. Despite the development and implementation of various programs within the framework of the national project "Demography", the population of our country is rapidly declining, therefore new ideas and their implementation are needed to stabilize demography in the camp. The article provides some recommendations for increasing the birth rate and reducing mortality.
