Estimation of hemolytic activity of vaccine strains of anthrax agent

The authors made the comparative estimation of methods for determination of hemolytic activity of vaccine strains of anthrax agent. By the modified method of agar layers it was revealed, that different strains of Bacillus anthracis express the exotoxins, which cause the erythrocytes lysis on α- or β-type. It was shown, that this method permit to differentiate the B. anthracis strains to a high accuracy and also to estimate enzymatic activity in individual colony-forming units or populations on the periods of development.
