Assessment of state support for small businesses in the Republic of Buryatia

The role of small business for the development of a modern state is undeniably great. And every year the importance of this sector increases. The article assesses the current state of small business in one of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, particularly in the Republic of Buryatia. The authors substantiate the need of state support for the successful development of small business in the republic. Small business today can be attributed to the most vulnerable link, which is exposed to various environmental factors. Thus, in the terms of a new coronavirus infection spread, it was small enterprises that suffered the greatest losses or even went bankrupt. The article identifies the main trends in the development of small business in the region, examines the key measures of state support in the implementation of the state program. Priority directions of small business development in the region based on state support are proposed.
