Assessment of investment activity and investment opportunities of the Smolensk region

The socio-economic development of the regions, its effectiveness, to a large extent depends on investment activity and capital allocated to various sectors of the economy of the region. The Russian economy does not currently have a favorable environment for attracting investment. It should be noted that investment resources in Russia are distributed extremely unevenly, and are mainly attracted by megalopolises and regions rich in natural resources. Other regions do not have the opportunity to use their investment potential to the fullest. When choosing a region for investment, investors are guided by the investment attractiveness of the region, which is made up of such important indicators as investment potential and investment risks. Absolutely all regions are faced with one of the key problems of investment policy - the search for sources of financing. Modernity knows many potential options for attracting investment in regional projects, but it should be noted that not all of them are capable of changing the situation in the region.
