А literature review was conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of intervention ablation methods. The advantages and disadvantages each of these techniques are reviewed and evaluated. The results of large-scale studies on the use of contact force sensing radiofrequency catheters and a second generation cryoballon in the treatment of paroxysmal and persistent forms of atrial fibrillation received full coverage. The current problems of the low efficacy of the persistent form of AF treatment are analyzed, and possible ways to increase it are considered.
