Evaluation of the epidemiological situation of tuberculosis in the Republic of Mari El

Currently, the problem of tuberculosis is very important for modern medicine, as every year the number of patients with both primary and secondary forms of tuberculosis is growing progressively. Mortality from this disease is also increasing. Also, the epidemic of HIV infection and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) continues to grow, which has a negative impact on the effectiveness of treatment and further prognosis. This article presents an assessment of morbidity, prevalence, mortality, the importance of early and timely diagnosis, as well as evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment of tuberculosis patients among both adults and children.
