The quality assessment of probiotic food supplements in cedar oil

The article is devoted to the development and evaluation of the quality of dietary supplements with cedar oil. Now the main health hazard of the population is constituted by the diseases of cardiovascular system. Atherosclerosis is the most widespread chronic disease among them. The development of atherosclerosis and the related heart troubles is influenced by the excess of cholesterol. Therefore the development of dietary supplement on the basis of natural substances capable to reduce cholesterol level is of great interest. It was found that the introduction of cedar oil into a nutrient medium significantly increases the activity of metabolizing cholesterol. The optimal rate of application of oil is 1.5%, which provides strong growth of bifidobacterium. It is found that polyunsaturated fatty acids have bifidogenic properties.
