The severity research of the brachiocephalic and coronary arteries calcification and its quantitative indicators assessment had been conducted in patients with multifocal atherosclerosis combined with diabetes mellitus type 2 by using multislice spiral computed tomography. It was detected that the formation peculiarities of calcium compounds deposits in the vascular wall were associated with the age of patients. The severity of calcification significantly correlated with age in patients without diabetes. No correlation was found in case of carbohydrate metabolism disorders. The negative impact of diabetes mellitus type 2 on the development of the brachiocephalic and coronary arteries calcification in multifocal lesions is revealed.
