Evaluation of a combining ability of the new paternal imi-resistant sunflower lines

We estimated productivity of the new sunflower lines resistant to imi-herbicides. Hybrid combinations including a maternal line VK 1-imi and two paternal lines Sl07 383-imi and Sl07 108-imi had the decisive superiority compared to the first domestic herbicide-resistant hybrid Imidg, and their productivity was at the same level as a foreign hybrid Nk Neoma had. In 2016, yield of these hybrids was 3.54 and 3.59 t per ha, respectively, in 2017 productivity of the hybrids VK 1-imi (А) х Sb7 383-imi and VK 1-imi (А) х Sb7 108-imi exceeded significantly the level of the domestic standard - the hybrid Imidg, and was equal to 3.51 and 3.57 t per ha. The results of combined trials of the experimental hybrids using the new CMS-testers of the foreign breeding proved the high common combining ability of two lines Sb7 383-imi and Sl07 108-imi. Productivity of the test-hybrids developed using these lines was within 3.08-3.16 t per ha. We noted good results in test-hybrids developed using the line BK 22-imi (paternal form of the hybrid Im-idg) as a parental component. We are going to submit the hybrid combinations VK 1-imi (А) х SI07 383-imi and VK 1-imi (А) х SI07 108-imi into the State Variety Trial to determine the possible production regions.
