Measuring the competitiveness of mechanisms for the protection of property

The paper offers the technique of measuring the competitiveness of mechanisms for the protection of property rights existing in the different countries and relation of property protection quality to the costs of its defense. The indexes allow to conduct cross-country comparison and to determine the trend of development of property protection institution in the country. Calculations of the proposed indexes are presented.
