The article deals with the methods of making isolinear maps in geographic information systems with the use of regular grids. There is evaluated the forest cover of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain in the Volgograd region. There is made a comparative analysis with the data of the state forest register. There is created an isolinear map on the basis of the received data.
