Evaluation of liquidity of the commercial bank

The commercial bank operates under the terms of constantly changing economy, social and political situation and changes in the financial market. All these aspects have a different impact on the economic stability of the credit institution. Financial and economic indicators of the bank's activity synthesize the characteristics of the economic components of its financial stability. One of these indicators is liquidity. The article describes the method of analysis of the liquidity of a commercial bank, its practical application exemplified by the public joint-stock company (PJSC) "Sberbank". The analysis is carried out by calculating liquidity ratios and liquidity indicators. The indicators of the bank's credit policy evaluation are analyzed, which allow to reveal the degree of aggressiveness of the credit policy and to assess the quality of the bank's loan debt. As a result of the study, the authors identify the challenges in the management of the bank's liquidity due to which some practical recommendations are given. Attention is focused on the recommendations that allow not only to increase the liquidity of Sberbank, but also to optimize the structure of assets and liabilities by attracting funds from different groups of customers, in different currencies and with different debt maturity.
