The aim of the study is estimation of certain cytokine indices and peroxidation&antioxidant system in arterial hypertension associated with osteoarthrosis. 44 patients with osteoarthrosis and 48 patients with osteoarthrosis associated with arterial hypertension were observed. Control group was formed of 19 practically healthy people. C&reactive protein (CRP), interleukins (IL-1ƒ, TNF-ƒ, IL-6), early and intermediate products of lipid peroxidation, antioxidant defense (serum catalase, erythrocytic catalase, plasmic antioxidant activity, erythrocyte peroxide resistance) were analysed. Increased CRP and serum cytokines concentration were revealed in patients with osteoarthrosis. Those are may justified by inflammation component of the illness. There were differences in IL-1ƒ, TNF-ƒ, IL-6 between ostheoarthrosis group and osteoarthrosis with arterial hypertension group. Activation lipid peroxidation (elevated early and intermediate products of lipid peroxidation with parallel depressed antioxidant defense in serum and in red blood cells) were revealed in patients with osteoarthrosis. We suggest that oxidized lipid have vasoconstrictive activity and can elevate blood arterial pressure itself.
