The article substantiates the need to develop industrial and production potential and optimize the production and economic efficiency of oil refineries. The article analyzes the main factors of economic efficiency of oil refineries. The arguments that justify the importance of long-term planning of the production activities of oil refineries are presented. The foundations have been laid for further research in the development of methodological recommendations for long-term planning and potential development of oil refineries.
