Estimating relative risks of late upper respiratory tract diseases in children of irradiated parents

Risks of upper respiratory tract diseases in children of irradiated parents resided in Vostochno-Kazakhstan region were analyzed. Children were divided into two dose groups depending on the dose to their parents – 75 mSv and 250 mSv and the control group made of children of unirradiated people. No significant difference in dynamics of respiratory tract diseases in the dose group of 75 mSv and control was found. Significant increase in relative risks of infectious and inflammatory respiratory tract diseases as compared with control was found in the age group of 0-29 years within the dose group of >250 mSv.
