The article is devoted to development of a method of quantitative pulse distortions parameters definition arising under action of birefringence effects in fiber. The analysis of existing methods for an such distortions used on networks is executed. The measurement circuit allowing to define effective a pulse displacement and a pulse expansion for each of a wave length meanings is developed. The method can be used for the analysis polarizing dispersion in networks with spectral multiplexing.
