In this article the technique of evaluation of cutting tool design process parameters based on method of quality functions development is considered taking into account requirements of the consumer and engineering characteristics for each stage of process. The functional model of control by process of cutting tool design with possibility of tool geometry and machining modes at change of tool and part material properties and parameters of the machine equipment. Use of the developed technique allows appointing rational parameters of the tool, to create knowledge bases of the cutting tool geometry and parameters of machining modes.
