Assessing the prospects of digitization for sustainable development strategy and managerial decision making

The emergence of new technologies allow for development of new technological solutions and new production facilities based on digital and communication technologies (DCT), which necessitates the assessment of prospects and opportunities regarding overall processes of digital transformation in society and economy. The current study dwells into the prospects of using DCT in organization of production procedures processes; analysis, evaluation and planning; automation and digitalization of non-production business processes; organization of internal and external communication. The current trends in digitization, namely industrial Internet of Things, digital means of internal and external communication etc., are to bу taken account of by company management to provide for sustainable development based on the criteria of the size of an organization, the number and territorial distribution of operations; the character of technological and production processes; automated equipment in use; the necessity of protecting and the nature of either internal or external, i.e. received from consumers, data; the number of consumers it interacts with. For both modern consumers and employees, digital communication is a natural, and more preferable compared to physical communication, form of communication, which is to be taken into account by management in developing strategy and decision-making.
