Assessment of the potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an integration association

The article evaluates the potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an integration association. The activity of the organization is considered through the prism of three aspects: economic, socio-cultural and political. In each of the directions, the program, statutory and regulatory documents regulating the activities of the organization are considered. The role of the organization in the implementation of integration processes in the region, the ability to develop new areas of cooperation among the member states of the organization is emphasized. The article substantiates the position that today the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a key player in the international arena, determining the vectors of development of the participating countries of the organization, as well as establishing their commitment to the norms of international law.
