The issues of food supply are always relevant, since food is the most important condition for the life and security of a person, society, and the state. The global processes taking place in the world in recent years are contradictory and carry both positive and negative phenomena. These contradictions begin to escalate and become especially intense during periods of socio-economic crises. Therefore, for each country, the primary and most important task is to achieve the necessary level of food self-sufficiency. The purpose of the study is to analyze the parameters of production of the main types of agricultural products and assess the level of food self-sufficiency in Russia and individual countries of the world. The authors considered the share of exports and the share of imports of food products in the total volume of exports and imports of countries. The study revealed a relatively high level of food self-sufficiency in certain types of products in some countries and a rather low level in others. The assessment showed that countries such as Belarus, Poland and Kazakhstan are fully provided with basic food products, while Russia lacks its own production of milk, vegetables and gourds. The analysis shows that some countries have a certain export potential for certain types of food products.
