Assessment of productivity and preservation of root crops of varieties and hybrids of table carrots in the conditions of the Omsk Irtysh region

The material on the study of 11 varieties and hybrids of table carrots on the experimental field of the Omsk SAU in the conditions of the Omsk region is presented. It has been established that the soil and climatic resources of the Omsk Irtysh region, when cultivating varieties and hybrids adapted to local conditions, allow obtaining over 80 t/ha of table carrot root crops with high marketability and preservation of more than 95%. The Berlicum Royal variety (88.4 t/ha) and the Santa Cruz F1 hybrid (87.6 t/ha) significantly exceed the control variety Nantes 4 by 7.8-8.6 t/ha. At the control level, the yield of root crops of the Royal Chanson and Samson varieties is 74.3-78.6 t/ha, the remaining varieties and hybrids yield significantly (by 12-25%) inferior to them. A good level of marketability of root crops have varieties and hybrids of table carrots of the Nantes and Shantane variety types - 81.6-89.1%, with the exception of the Abledo F1 hybrid - 71.3%. The Nantes 4, Samson, Royal Chanson, Berlikum Royal varieties and Santa Cruz F1 hybrid are characterized by a high index of ecological plasticity - 1.03-1.23, which indicates their ability to withstand weather stresses without a significant decrease in productivity. Increased safety (91.8-97.7%) and keeping quality (4-5 points) of root crops during the storage period is distinguished in all varieties and hybrids of table carrot of the Nantes variety type, in the Shantane variety type - Royal Chanson variety the indicator is 93.9%, Flakkee variety type - Autumn King (98.1%) and Berlikum variety type - Berlikum Royal (94.8%). The greatest total losses of root crops (15.8-34.1%) during storage are observed in Shantane Royal, Flakkee Agroni varieties and Abledo F1 hybrid, mainly caused by diseases - 8.0-24.1%.
