Assessment of production potential of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural organizations of the Irkutsk region

The article substantiates the need to improve the efficiency of the production potential of dairy cattle (on the example of the Irkutsk region). At present it is necessary to modernize the enterprises in all branches of agriculture. The estimation of the basic production assets and their use in agricultural organizations of the region was carried out. The estimation of quantitative and qualitative growth ofproduction factors is shown, the shortcomings of their functioning are revealed. Among the most important factors the author singles out such as the use of the existing production potential, the quality and motivation of labor, the organization ofproduction. The indicators of the use of the forage reserve and factors affecting its development in dairy cattle breeding are analyzed. It is established that the feeding area in the agricultural organizations of the Irkutsk region has decreased, its productivity is also decreasing. The growth of milk production will be achieved with a rational use of the resource potential, a reduction in labor costs and material inputs per unit of output.
