To completely exclude the negative effect of drugs on the animal organism, in addition to determining their toxicity, an assessment of allergic, irritating and cumulative properties is required. Evaluation of the allergic properties of the drug Carnivit, its irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes, skin- resorptive and cumulative effects was carried out on white mice and rabbits. Allergenic (sensitizing) properties were studied on rabbits by the method of skin applications, local irritant effects on the skin and mucous membranes. On white mice, the skin-resorptive effect of the drug and the cumulative effect were evaluated. When evaluating the allergic properties of the drug Carnivit and its skin-resorptive action, no deviations were found in the behavior and condition of the skin in rabbits and white mice of the experimental groups. Changes in the internal organs were also not established. The total scoring of the irritant effect of the drug Carnivit on the skin was 1.3 points, on the mucous membranes (conjunctiva) - 1.0 points. The irritant effect was rated as weak. The evaluation of the resorptive effect was carried out 1 and 16 hours after the end of the drug exposure to mice. Changes in the skin condition (swelling, hyperemia, increased local temperature) in mice of the experimental group were not established. Within 14 days after the end of the experiment, there were no cases of death of animals, the appearance of signs of intoxication and irritation of the skin of the tails. The cumulation coefficient for the drug Carnivit was 28.8. This value is higher than 5, so the drug Carnivit refers to substances with mild cumulation. It was concluded that the veterinary drug Carnivit has a weak irritant effect on the skin and mucous membranes, does not have a sensitizing and skin-resorptive effect and has a mild cumulation.
