Particle velocity evaluation under the action of an electrostatic field in femtosecond laser ablation process

The article deals with the problems of femtosecond laser ablation process for synthesis of fine powders. It has been experimentally proven that the use of an electrostatic field during laser ablation can significantly reduce the absorption of laser radiation by ablated particles. The paper provides an analytical estimate of the rate of particles removal under the action of an electrostatic field by constructing a mathematical model of the process. The calculations confirm the experimental assumptions about the efficiency of the method.
