The analysis of modern coastal ornitofauna one of regions of dry steppe zone in the south of European part of Russia, Kalmykia republic is presented. The author shows the data on biodiversity and quantity of bird species of water-swamp complex on the territory of steppe reservoirs under the conditions of growing anthropogenic impact. Changes in hydrological regime and growing disturbing factor impacted the dynamics of bird species biodiversity for several Kalmykia inland reservoirs - Sarpa and Deed-Khulsun. The dynamics during the period of 2008-2015 has been observed. The share of Sarpa lake system and Deed-Khulsun lake in protection and growing biodiversity of the region has been assessed. The recommendations for the management of their hydrological regime in order to maintenance and biodiversity protection of steppe reservoirs have been given.
