Evaluation of technical condition and seismic resistance of school buildings in the Republic of Buryatia

The article presents the results of engineering surveys of school buildings constructed on the territory of the Republic of Buryatia from the late 19th century to the 1980s of the last century. Some of them were built within the framework of the program "Seismic safety of the Republic of Buryatia for 1999-2000 and for the period until 2010". The reasons and kind of damages of load-bearing and enclosing constructions of the surveyed buildings are indicated. It is established that out of the entire list of surveyed buildings only three buildings meet modern requirements for seismic resistance, which is inadmissible for a region characterized by high seismic activity. In this regard, improving the seismic resistance of these buildings is a very urgent task.
