Assessing the level of professional competence of teacher of educational course “basics of religious culture and secular ethics”

In new conditions the existence of learning environment is focused on meeting the needs of concrete consumers of educational services, which in its turn requires teacher’s professional development and personal mobility. One of the problems in education is generated by the contradiction between the implementing new goals in educational system and the lack of teachers’ readiness to work in modern conditions. It is obvious that the prospects for overcoming this contradiction are significantly associated with the need to increase the level of teachers’ professional competence. In order to assess the level of professional competence of teacher of educational course «Basics of religious culture and secular ethics», a study was conducted on the basis of Kuzbass Regional Institute of Professional Development and Retraining of Educators. For analyzing the level of teachers’ readiness to professional activity we have developed the expert list with the following criteria: multicultural, cognitive, technological and communicative. Diagnostics are carried out on the basis of expert list and analysis of lesson plans. On the basis of conducted monitoring studies we have amended the training program “Theory and practice of teaching the religious cultures and secular ethics” and developed recommendations for teachers of educational course “Basics of religious culture and secular ethics”.
