Assessment of the impact of the outflow of labor resources on the economy of the region

The problem of increasing the human resources potential of the country’s regions has not lost its importance for many years, while the uniform development of labor resources is of no small importance. The impact of the state of human resources on the economic development of the regions is not questioned, and maintaining the influx of highly qualified personnel is becoming one of the priorities at the regional level. The study evaluates the impact of the outflow of labor resources on the economy of the region on the example of the Kursk region in the period 2019-2023. Causal relationships and expected consequences are revealed. It has been established that for the Kursk region, the current trends in recent years have been a decrease in the total population, while the rate of migration influx of population to the region has also decreased due to the aggravation of the political situation. As a result, there is a steady decline in the number of workers in the region, as well as the number of people employed. The reasons for the current situation in the region include the low level of wages - 40-70% lower than the national average. The article also reflects the existing negative difference in the level of average per capita income and the subsistence minimum in the region in comparison with the level in the country. The continuing rather low level of wages in the region, combined with the unfavorable geopolitical situation, contributes to the outflow of personnel from the region, thereby reducing its economic potential.
